This policy explains what information we collect when you use Genesis Gates, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We do not sell your data. We do not use your tree, photos, or correspondence to train AI models. We do not share it with advertisers.

Account information. Email address, display name, and authentication identifiers from sign-in providers (Google, magic link). Password hashes are never stored in plaintext.

Family data you upload. People, relationships, dates, places, photos, documents, and notes you add to your tree or vault. You own this content.

Billing information. Subscription tier, billing history, and payment-method metadata (last four digits, expiry). Card numbers are processed by Stripe and never touch our servers.

Telemetry. Pages viewed, features used, errors encountered. We do not use third-party ad trackers.

To run the product, secure your account, bill you correctly when you choose a paid tier, and improve the experience based on what actually breaks. That's it.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in across sessions and to remember preferences (theme, last-viewed tree). We do not use advertising cookies.

We share data only with the service providers that make Genesis Gates work — hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend), and Arweave/Base for sealed records. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement.

We will disclose data in response to a valid legal demand only after confirming it is binding under California law and, where possible, notifying you first.

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your trees, photos, and personal data are removed within 30 days. Sealed records anchored to Arweave or Base are public, tamper-evident by design, and cannot be retracted — sealing is opt-in and irreversible.

You can access, export (GEDCOM + JSON), and delete your data at any time from the dashboard. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA; EU/UK residents under the GDPR. To exercise them, email privacy@genesisgates.com.

When you share a public link, anyone with no death date AND a birth year newer than 100 years ago is automatically hidden — name, dates, photos. Owners can opt in per person.

Genesis Gates accounts are for users 13 and older. Family trees may include children of any age, but those records remain hidden in public sharing per the living-people rule above.

We will notify you by email of any material change at least 30 days before it takes effect.
